My almost international page contributed to

The almost black,
rusty and rotten ...

I bought it in 2002 from a guy near the swiss border, looking good and shining bright. (The bike, not the guy.)
It had just made about 10.400 miles since 1991, perfect to give some road to it, so I took it for a some 14.000 miles ride in the first year.

... Vulcan VN750A7

My '91 Californian Modell called Hoizkessele: rust never sleeps.
Of course, it doesn't look that shiny and bright any more. But I don't really care about shining, a tour bike must eat dust. And that's what it really does, 'cause

OK, let's go!

I love to bike backroads - and the roads behind the backroads.
Living in the hilly area of the Black Forest, nothing is easier to find.

But the Black Forest is not as big as the Rockys, so once even the backroads behind the backroads will run out.
Fortunately my home area is almost as close to France and Switzerland with all their mountains and all the mountains of fun these mountains give to a hillbilly biker like me.

Even Austria is just around the corner. And there's always a corner behind the corner, like Italy, Slovenia, Croatia ...

Hoizkessele deap in the heart of Croatia - as a sort of a warm-up:

Wherever you go, there's ...

... always a road ending.

The million gravel road to ...

... unlimited offroad devotion.

Somewhere in the ...

... coast mountain chain.

for Hoizkessele on the Ligurian Mountain Border Trail:

Colle del Lago dei Signori

What a wet thing...

... but it's clearing up again.

A mountaineers slick!

What comes next?

I must admit that there are roads behind the backroads which arn't really roads anymore.
And I must admit that Hoizkessele is still a street bike, unfortunately, not really suited for mule trails. So I decided to buy another horse to side Hoizkessele, it must not necessarily have been an Africa Twin, but something similiar most definitely.

Since Hillbilly biking is somewhat specific.

No, this is not the Enduro, but pretty close to it:
MZ ES 125
a 73er, in the dispatch rider version (NVA/GST) with 8,5 PS und about 90 km/h Topspeed!

But here it is:
DR 650 R Dakar SP 41 B
90er Modell, not that beautiful anymore, but at least as mountain trail experienced as my Vulcan.
Well, allas, it's already gone with the wind. The engine died. RIP!

But even in winter times the VN is nice to have, well if you don't ask for a lot of grip of course:

And still as a hell lot of fun of a racer it does a good job.
Vulcan riders do it better! ;o)

Go for the entire story!

Oops, did I say, Vulcan riders do it better?
It seems that there are still some things I got to practice on a bit!

Ahum, well, Vulcan riders have to do it better... - sigh!
